To be on the Carl B. Bruce cheer team, you must be a 7th- or 8th-grader. Cheerleaders must keep a C or above average in every class in order to be eligible to cheer. Cheerleaders should be enthusiastic and have school spirit. Each candidate has to pass a school physical with a professional doctor because cheer is a sport, and you must be in good condition. Most importantly, you must have good character because you’re a leader representing our school! If you have any questions concerning cheer, please see Mrs. Hood or email her at deidra.hood@kckps.org.

Boys’ soccer players begin their conditioning and season after spring break. We practice, on average, four days a week, and our games are held Saturdays at one of the KCK high schools. Practice includes dribbling, running and scrimmages. The game schedule is on the CBB calendar, which is at the bottom of the Home page of the website. Contact Coach Reiman at robert.reiman@kckps.org or Coach Bautista or patricia.bautista@kckps.org for more information.

Prior to spring break, 7th- and 8th-grade girls interested in playing soccer may attend an informational meeting and try out for the team. Sixth-grade students may be utilized as team managers. The first and foremost requirement is a positive attitude. Young ladies interested in being a part of the team need to be mindful of their grades throughout the school year and be positive role models for their peers. For more information, see or email Coach Fuel at david.fuel@kckps.org.
